The method of taking stone of different size from natural rocks is known as quarrying. Open part of the natural rock from which useful material such is dimension stone, rock, sand, gravel, construction aggregate, slate, or rip-rap has been excavated is known as quarry. Commonly the open-pit-mine that produced building material and dimension stone are referred to as quarry.

Suitable location for quarry

• The building stone should be near the Ground surface.
• The required stone should be in sufficient quantity.
• Sufficient Local labor should be available cheaply.
• Quality communication should be available across or around the quarry.
• Sufficient quantity of clean water should be available.
• Quality drainage system should be available across or around the quarry.
• Fuel and Energy should be cheaply available.
• The location of the quarry should be near to the transportation.
• Quarry sit should be away from the populated area in case of quarrying by blasting.
• The quarry site should be approachable to the installment machinery.
